SEO Video Optimisation

Using SEO Video Optimisation to Promote Your Business

The thing about SEO Video Optimisation is that it is still a relatively new concept compared to traditional advertising or text SEO. Search engines still do not have the ability to ‘look’ inside of a video and see what king of content it contains and so it still relies heavily on the text that accompanies the video. That said, video search engines do have the ability to detect flesh scenes and faces within video content, mainly to automatically dismiss videos that contain adult content. On the up side, SEO video optimisation is an option that leaves those exposed to it with a more thorough memory of what was contained and also allows a business to create a clear image and display their logo to a wider audience.

There are three main methods of using SEO Video Optimisation for promoting a business online.

Optimisation your videos

Results through Video Search Engines that crawl site for video content. This method uses special software and human eyes to look through video content and categorise video content. For search engines that use software, results still rely heavily on text that surrounds the video content.  You can optimise your video content through search engines by following a few simple steps. To ensure you get the highest ranking possible in search results, content needs to be relevant and keyword rich. This method is helped along by the use of a video sitemap whereby users and software can detect or find what they are looking for. For best results, it is recommended to avoid using a flash video player as these are usually not compatible with video content search engines.

Post your videos

Posting Video content to sites with RSS and MRSS feeds. RSS leads are a fine way to get your site involved with SEO Video Optimisation. It is a relatively quick and easy method to use and increases search engine results and page views by sharing videos with other sites who will then link back to you own website. MRSS feeds need keyword rich information entered into the Meta tags, this will usually include a title, description and keywords. Thumbnails of stills from the video content work well with this method where users might be presented with a page full of related video content and will choose which they want to watch by the thumbnails that are displayed. Transcribing the dialogue that is in the video and displaying it along with the description can lead to a higher number of page views.

Display content in your videos

Displaying content in video upload sites. Sites like YouTube can make interesting video content go viral in no time at all. Again, these sites are easy to use and in many cases free. Sites like these already have a huge audience and the key to being successful within them is to post video content that people actually want to watch, with a title that will catch someone’s eye and make them hit the ‘play’ button. On sites like these, content does not always have to be completely relevant, as long as you display your company logo throughout the video and maybe add a short advert at the end, a good video can lead to viral SEO video optimisation.
