Background

TopGear.com is a commercially run car website operated by BBC Worldwide Limited and independent from the successful BBC TV show TopGear. TopGear.com is entirely funded by commercial revenue. Online advertising has become a very important revenue stream for TopGear.com.

Challenge

TopGear.com set out to increase the number of visitors and page views to their website in order to sell additional online advertising. TopGear.com is operating in the very competitive segment of car and automotive where manufacturers, retailers, second hand car sales sites, magazines and spare part sites competing for visibility and visitors. As a result many of the car models reviewed on the TopGear.com car review section did have poor rankings across all search enginess.This included some very popular car brands such as Audi, BMW, Honda, Landrover, Fiat, ford, Mazda, Mercedes, Peugeot, Renault, Toyota, Vauxhall, VW, Volkswagen.

Solution

After a full business and website SEO appraisal, focusing on the car review section, Netleadz identified the following key areas to be addressed:

2. Content development and restructure large part of existing website content
3. Training the web development team on copy write for search
