On Friday 19th we were lucky enough to enjoy a team outing to the Taste of London festival in Regent’s Park, courtesy of one of our lovely clients - Eatapas.co.uk (Eatapas are an artisan supplier of authentic Spanish produce).
Luckily we had chosen a good day for it, as in the words of Bob Marley, ‘the sun was shining and the weather was sweet’. Once through the entrance, we were immediately approached by a kind lady offering samples of Thai beer - we knew it was going to be a good day.
Next we visited the Eatapas stand to say hi and chow down on some delicious cured meats. Their stand was set out beautifully and it was a pleasure to find that it was consistently one of the busiest at the festival throughout the afternoon. It’s unsurprising though when there was authentic, artisan cured meats and cheese such as chorizo and manchego available for all to sample. We couldn’t resist a #TasteSelfie with Italo (business owner) and even managed to capture a photo of the selfie.
We then signed ourselves up for a Prosecco tasting course. Here we tried several different brands, also sampling some fabulous cheese to go with the bubbles. It wasn’t all fun and games though, we learnt a thing or two in the process.
There were hundreds of stands all with such wonderful delights. Our newest digital marketing team member Dan was in his element, darting from one stand to another scoping out the free samples. He still can’t work out why anyone would buy anything with so much on offer.
One of the most noticeable things at the festival was the amount of coconut infused products, such as oil, water, vodka, popcorn and cream to mention but a few. It is safe to say that London was awash with the stuff that day.
Annalisa our social media specialist was busy with her digital camera putting the paparazzi to shame encapsulating the spirit of the event and of course jumping on social media to tell the world about it.
We visited some of our friends at the festival including the award winning restaurant Palomar and enjoyed an alcoholic ice lolly from our amigos over at licka-lix.
Taste of London has gone from strength to strength each year, and is now viewed by many as the ‘Glastonbury of gastronomy’. There are some of the most popular chefs, restaurants and producers on show. It’s a great chance to try some of the fabulous London restaurants such as Duck and Waffle or Sushi Samba.
It was a highly enjoyable day, and a fun time was had by the whole team. We would definitely recommend it to all and will be in force again next year to sample more culinary pleasures.
